This Privacy Policy explains which data we collect when you visit blokkbricks.com (the "Site") or place an order, why we collect it, how long we keep it, who we share it with and what your rights are. It applies to all visitors and customers of the Site.
1. Data controller
The data controller is ECOM BLUE, a French SAS registered with the Paris Trade and Companies Register under number 945 138 949, 149 Avenue du Maine, 75014 Paris, France, trading as Blokk. You can contact us about your personal data at contact@blokkbricks.com.
2. Data collected when you browse the Site
When you visit the Site, we and our service providers automatically collect technical data: IP address, browser type and version, device and operating system, language, pages viewed, time spent on pages, referring website, and the cookies or similar identifiers described in Section 8. This data is used to make the Site work, keep it secure, measure its audience and, with your consent, personalize advertising.
3. Data collected when you order or contact us
When you place an order, create an account, subscribe to our newsletter or contact us, we collect the data you provide: first and last name, email address, postal address, phone number, order details and history, and, for the newsletter, your email address and preferences. Payment data (card number, expiry date) is collected directly by our payment processors (Shopify Payments and its partners, PayPal, Shop Pay) and never stored by Blokk.
4. How we use your data
We use your personal data to:
- process, ship and track your orders, and send you order confirmations and shipping updates (performance of the contract);
- handle your returns, replacement pieces, questions and complaints (performance of the contract and legitimate interest);
- prevent fraud and secure payments (legitimate interest and legal obligation);
- keep accounting and tax records (legal obligation);
- send you our newsletter and commercial offers if you have agreed to receive them; you can unsubscribe at any time via the link in each email (consent);
- measure the audience of the Site and improve it (legitimate interest, or consent for non-essential cookies);
- show you relevant advertising on social networks and advertising platforms, and measure its performance (consent).
5. Recipients and transfers of your data
Your data is processed by Blokk's staff and by the service providers we need to run the Site and fulfil your orders, acting on our instructions: Shopify Inc. (e-commerce platform and hosting), payment processors, carriers and logistics partners who deliver your orders, email and customer-service tools, and analytics and advertising platforms (such as Meta and Google) when you have consented to the corresponding cookies.
Some of these providers are located outside Canada and the European Union, in particular in the United States. Where data is transferred, we rely on the safeguards provided by applicable law (adequacy decisions, standard contractual clauses, or the provider's own compliance commitments). We never sell your personal data.
6. How long we keep your data
- Customer account and order data: for the duration of our relationship, then up to 3 years after your last order for customer-relationship purposes; invoices and accounting records are kept for 10 years as required by law.
- Newsletter data: until you unsubscribe, or 3 years after your last interaction with us.
- Customer-service exchanges: 3 years after the request is closed.
- Technical and cookie data: up to 13 months, except where a shorter period applies.
7. Security
We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your data against loss, unauthorized access, alteration or disclosure: encrypted (HTTPS) connections, secure payment processing that meets PCI-DSS standards, and restricted access to data on a need-to-know basis. No system is completely secure; if a breach affecting your data were to occur, we would inform you and the competent authorities as required by law.
8. Cookies and similar technologies
A cookie is a small file stored on your device when you visit the Site. We use the following categories:
- Strictly necessary cookies: required for the Site to work (cart, checkout, security, language). They cannot be disabled.
- Analytics cookies: allow us to measure visits and understand how the Site is used (Shopify analytics and similar tools).
- Advertising and social-media cookies: placed by platforms such as Meta (Facebook and Instagram), Google and TikTok to show you relevant advertising and measure the performance of our campaigns.
You can accept or refuse non-essential cookies via the cookie banner displayed on your first visit, change your choice at any time via the cookie settings link at the bottom of the Site, or delete cookies through your browser settings. Refusing cookies may affect some features of the Site.
9. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to object to or restrict its processing, to withdraw your consent at any time, to receive your data in a portable format, and to give instructions concerning your data after your death. Canadian residents also have the rights provided by PIPEDA and applicable provincial laws, including Quebec's Law 25, and may file a complaint with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada or their provincial commissioner. Residents of the European Union may lodge a complaint with the CNIL (France) or their local authority.
